First stop was at Crown Point Vista House, with spectacular views over the Columbia river.
The house itself is closed for restoration.  It was built in 1916-1918 as a rest place for Oregon pioneers.
Next stop Multnomah Falls.  Fergus is the brown smudge to the right of the bridge.

See video of complete falls.

We called in at Bonneville Dam - but were redirected to the Hatchery while they allowed some boats through.

We didn't expect to see Sturgeon or to see the true length of them!
The fish they had in the hatchery were about 8ft maximum.

We eventually go to the dam had a quick look around and moved on.

The salmon ladders have underwater windows where people sit and count the fish all day!  (see the web cam)

We stopped off at the Full Sail Brewery.  Tried their trial platter of their microbrews.   Full Sail Pale Ale is a local (North West) favourite.
Eventually our trip got us to Pendleton, where the "real west lives".

Stayed in the Travelodge with free internet access!

We called into Stetsons just before they closed, and had a big steak.
They go to bed early around here....
