| First stop was at Crown Point Vista House, with spectacular views over the Columbia river. |
The house itself is closed for restoration. It was built in 1916-1918 as a rest place for Oregon pioneers. |
Next stop
Multnomah Falls. Fergus is the brown smudge to the
right of the bridge. See video of complete falls.
We called in at
Bonneville Dam - but were redirected to the Hatchery
while they allowed some boats through. We didn't
expect to see
Sturgeon
or to see the true length of them! |
We eventually go to the dam had a quick look around and
moved on.
The salmon ladders have underwater windows where people sit and count the fish all day! (see the web cam) |

We stopped off at the Full Sail Brewery. Tried their trial platter of their microbrews. Full Sail Pale Ale is a local (North West) favourite. |
Eventually our trip got us to
Pendleton, where
the "real west lives". Stayed in the Travelodge with free internet access! We called into Stetsons just before they closed, and had
a big steak. |
